During her recent visit to Cairo to participate in “Down the Road to Goodwill” conference hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce, Rima Fakih served as a keynote speaker where she spoke about her work as Miss USA and how thrilled she is to be
serving as a goodwill ambassador for her country. The conference that was held in the Cleopatra ballroom was also attended by Bill Clinton former USA president. Rima enjoyed her visit to Cairo and added “Egypt is beautiful and exploring the city of Cairo is such an adventure. People were so welcoming and kind. I couldn’t believe the view from my hotel room balcony overlooking the Nile. It was breathtaking. I also can’t explain the emotions running through me as I approached the Giza Pyramids, or toured the famous Egyptian Museum”. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a market leader and award winning innovator in consumer electronics, was the presenting sponsor for the Breast Cancer Foundation of Egypt’s (BCFE) 2010 Egypt Race for the Cure®, which took place around the Pyramids of Giza. The BCFE partnered with the international organization, Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, which has been hosting similar races all over the world since 1983, and under the auspices of the First Lady of Egypt, Suzanne Mubarak, supported by Suzanne Mubarak’s Women’s International Peace Movement. The Egypt Race for the Cure® was organized in an effort to raise awareness about a health issue that affects thousands of women in Egypt; and to educate women about how they can protect themselves against breast cancer. Mortality from the disease is high in Egypt because of late detection. More attention needs to be drawn to breast cancer in order to increase the public’s understanding of the dangers of this disease. The race hoped to generate momentum in Egyptian society so that diagnosis and treatment improve, and so that survival increases. The event wass also a chance for everyone who has been affected by breast cancer to heal and to remember loved ones whom may have been lost to breast cancer.

Egypt Wins 2010 Sife World Cup For The Second Year In A row
Egypt won the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) World Cup for the second consecutive year. This marks the first time in SIFE history that a country wins the prestigious World Cup award two years in a row. Coca-Cola Egypt sponsored SIFE for the fifth year as part of The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation’s strategy to invest in education and entrepreneurship The winning Egyptian team competed against 40 countries at the World Cup competition in Los Angeles, USA which started on October 10th and lasted for three days. The winning team included students from ‘L’Université Française d’Egypte’ also known as The French University in Egypt. The team won the competition which was organized amongst universities in Egypt in July 2010. In order to prepare the Egyptian team, Coca-Cola Egypt provided them with intensive training sessions, coaching, and rehearsal presentations in order to prepare.

Samsung Announces Winners of 3D LED TV Facebook Competition
samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, today concluded an innovative social media competition that invited users to submit their reviews of its 3D LED TVs on Facebook. The five-week competition, which started on June 13, 2010, encouraged consumers to visit Samsung dealers or shops and share their experience about 3D LED TV by posting their comments, reviews or videos on the Samsung TV MENA Facebook fan page. Entries were evaluated on the basis of originality and creativity. More than 500 people from 14 countries participated.
