The MEMA presented honored awards to these 6 prodigies who
stood the test of time on their own terms. They brought such
strength and passion to everything they did. Who else has had a
more versatile career, and still maintained the dedication to their
craft. What more could you ask for in a role model for younger
generations? Nagat Al Saghira, Mohamed Sultan, Sayed Hegab,
Khaled Agag, Mohamed Fouad, Hany Mehanna, Tamer Hosny
and Sherine Abdul Wahab both won individual awards after
being voted best male/female singers throughout 2014. Tamer
took center stage, and performed his award winning best song
“180 Daraga”, and also took home an award for his single
“Etamni”. As Sherine walked up onto the stage to accept her
award, she mesmerized the audience with her beautiful voice
and rocked the stage with her performance. She won two
additional awards for best album “Ana Keteir “ and best clip
“Koli Melkak”. The best oriental male/female award went to
Mahmoud Al Liethy and Amina, while Khaled Hussein took
home the award for best DJ, and Sharmoofers were awarded
best band of the year. Major award shows typically don’t make
room for emerging talents unless they have a massive hit, of
course. But not MEMA. Through its Music initiative, new rising
youth, and encouragement awards are presented to these talents,
which are often showcased with short performances.
