Semiramis InterContinental hosts Ramadan Mouled Sohour Celebration
Tam Tarala Lam Tam Tam…This was the music played by the “Hasabala Band” saluting everyone arriving to booker’s spectacular sohour hosted recently by the Semiramis InterContinental Cairo. The highlight of Sohour evening was the Mouled spectacular, displaying a combination of Ramadan décor, including tiny lanterns, stars and lunar cycle motifs, blended with elements of the famous Egyptian Mouled celebrations and characters : the Magician, whirling darawishes, the magzoub, the clown, fortune teller and henna drawing lady . Last but not least renowned singer Mohamed Adaweya joined to complete a perfect sohour Mouled celebration. A night of recognition for the entire Hotel’s Top Corporate Accounts was held at Laialy Mirage at The Beach to celebrate the achievement of the 3rd quarter of 2009. Oktoberfest At The Cairo Marriott Hotel
The Cairo Marriott Hotel held the authentic German festival - Oktoberfest, which took place at the “Patio” from the 1st till the 8th of October. The festival was sponsored by several companies and had witnessed a great success among the German community in Egypt. TUI Environment Champion Award Goes to Mövenpick Resort El Quseir for the Fourth Consecutive Year

First Hilton Hotel Underway In Egypt’s Marsa Alam. Hilton Worldwide
Hilton Worldwide has signed a Management Agreement with Concord Co. for Tourist Development S.A.E. for the first Hilton branded hotel in Marsa Alam, on the west coast of Egypt’s Red Sea. The 370-room newbuild property, scheduled to open in 2012, will be part of a large integrated mixed-use project to include a residential town, an entertainment village and a congress centre. With 1.5km of beautiful beachfront, Hilton Marsa Alam will be located approximately 20km south of Marsa Alam International Airport, and 30km from Marsa Alam town. Four Seasons Hotel, Alexandria at San Stefano has recently welcomed Massimiliano (Max) Musto as its new Hotel Manager. Musto is no stranger to Four Seasons, his career with the company started in 1998 when he was appointed as Restaurant Manager for The Regent Bangkok, a Four Seasons Hotel. Through hard work and determination he then progressed to become the Hotel’s Director of Restaurants, before moving to similar roles within the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore. He then moved to the Regent Beverly Wilshire in the capacity of Assistant director Food and Beverage in 2002. He went on to pursue his career as Director of Food and Beverage with Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi and Four Seasons Resort Aviara, until moving to the recently opened Four Seasons Resort Mauritius where he was appointed Resort Manager.

ExxonMobil Supports Egyptian Women’s Leadership: Advancing Women, Advancing the Economy
ExxonMobil Egypt announces today the start of the Global Women in Management program, which will be held for the first time in Cairo. The program, held October 11 to November 5, includes 23 mid-career women from Egypt, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Palestine who will examine and adapt best practices that advance women’s economic opportunity and meet the needs of their own communities and countries. The ExxonMobil Foundation’s Women’s Economic Opportunity Initiative provides women with full scholarships to attend this Middle Eastern regional training workshop. The training program is run by the Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA), an international non-profit organization that has worked in Egypt since 1980 and worldwide for more than 30 years. Graduates of the Egypt training will join CEDPA’s alumni network of more than 5,200 leaders who are working to improve communities in over 150 countries worldwide.

Josef Kufer, Senior Vice President, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Africa Division, has appointed Pascal Fitoussi as the Director of Sales & Marketing for the Swiss hotel group in Africa. Amr Asaad, Director of Sales & Marketing for the Mövenpick Resort El Quseir announced recently the appointment of Ahmed Nagui as the Assistant Director of Sales for the 250 room resort property.
