W hen we searched for the ideal cover girl for our wedding
issue, we were determined to bring our readers a fresh, bright, stunning young
talent who is resolute to show the Arab world that she’s a woman who is as
talented as she is enticing. For the first time DG gets up close and personal
with the rising diva…
Please introduce yourself to DG readers? I am
Tatiana, my origin is from Lebanon and now I am Egyptian, married to Director
Akram Farid. We have a beautiful daughter Maria; she is almost two years old. I
have been living in Egypt for eight years. I studied at Mohamed Abdel Hady’s
acting studio and from there I was chosen to act with the great Warda in “Awan
El Ward” series and then I sang with the magnificent Warda in an Opera.
Afterwards I acted in several movies, but then I traveled to USA for two years
because of Maria and now I am back after staring in “Samy Oxide
Carbon”.
Do you consider “Elaqat Khasa” movie the reason behind
your first appearance to the people, and “Samy Oxide Carbon” movie the actual
beginning for you after your special performance in it? Well yes,
especially that “Elaqat Khasa” was packed with new actors and actresses and
people talked about this experience for some time, regardless of the fact that
the comments may have been negative or positive.
Who is your
favorite female actress? Soad Hosny, I love to act, sing, and dance.
My dream is to do these kinds of roles, but it is too difficult. Soad Hosny
found star makers, but nowadays it is not the same.
Did you start
acting in Lebanon before you come to Egypt? No, I didn’t, the first
time I started acting was here in Egypt. I used to work as a model in Lebanon. I
never thought I would live in Egypt and achieve my childhood dream of acting. It
is a dream that came true.
What do you think about the people who
are saying that your husband Akram Farid is the reason behind your
stardom? Absolutely not, and my proof is that most of my movies are
not with Akram.
What do you think about the actors and actresses
who entered the political world subsequent to the revolution? I
think that some of them truly love this country and want a change and others for
the sake of the media show. I was brought up in Lebanon and of course that
helped me to be politically aware. I went to Tahrir square during the revolution
with my husband and tried to help as much as I could.
What do you
think about daring roles in cinema? Cinema conveys real world and so
actors should act all kinds of roles as long as they are good, and there is no
amplification in it. I am supportive of daring roles as in “Rab3a El Adweya”
movie in its first part or as in “Darb El Hawa” movie. It is also about how you
do it with no exaggeration.
Tell us about the new theatrical play
“Badla Smokeen” and who chose you for it? Director Adel Anwar is the
one who chose me; he called me and explained to me everything about the role
and the play. It was a foreign play and they translated it to Arabic. This play
was my first experience on stage and it helped me a lot in confronting the
audiences and having a lot of confidence.
Let’s move to another
part of your life, what is your favorite hobby? I love dangerous
sports and taking risks, I love jumping and diving but after I had my baby I
started to think a lot before taking any risks.
“The first time I started acting was here in Egypt. I used
to work as a model in Lebanon. I never thought I would live in Egypt and achieve
my childhood dream of acting. It is a dream that came
true”.

What do you think about marriage and
stardom? Well, marriage is stability and stardom is so tempting and
it enriches the ego inside everyone but yet it is a huge responsibility, however
it restricts your freedom -- you can’t go anywhere or do anything you
want.
Do you like fashion? Well
every women does, I love to be feminine. Feminism is not only a look; it is also
ones character and spirit. Women should be tender and sweet.
Could you quit acting for motherhood? I don’t know --
motherhood is giving without getting anything. I got many offers that I
apologized about for the sake of Maria.
Using as few words as
possible – what can you say about the following: Your
mother: the true love and a symbol of giving Akram
Farid: my guardian angel Maria: everything to
me Acting: achieving my success Lebanon:
my country and childhood Egypt: my second
country | Have you considered
presenting TV shows? Yes, I would love to especially political
programs, but I am not sure if the audiences will accept it from me here in
Egypt as I am Lebanese.
What is next for you? I am
working on several things; in a movie called “Mr. & Mrs. Ewis” and “Al
Saf3a” series with director Magdy Abou Emeraa and Sherif Mounir. The movie will
be released in the coming feast and the series will be broadcast during
the approaching Ramadan.
Last but not least, we would like you to
send a love letter to whoever you want? To my father and mother, I
love you so much and thank you for everything..
