To Promote Tourism in Egypt ‘Huawei Captures Egypt’ Photography Competition flood Social Media Platforms Winning photos were displayed in a public gallery


Huawei Egypt Consumer Business Group launched the first amateur photography competition on social media last April entitled ‘Huawei Captures Egypt’ to endorse the art of photography as a key tool to promote the beauty of Egypt across the world. The competition reinforces Huawei’s strategy and innovation in smartphone photography, which is apparent in most of their flagship devices especially the P series devices that include highly advanced cameras and sensors.

The ‘Huawei Captures Egypt’ competition invited photography fans to post photos of ancient and historical sites of Egypt on social media platforms using the hashtag #HuaweiCapturesEgypt to help in boosting tourism in Egypt and highlight the nation’s beauty. A very large number of amateur photographers made their submissions over the past few weeks and the 30 best photos were chosen to for the public gallery display taking place Sunday May 15, 2016 where the final winners will be announced. The three winners were chosen by a strong panel of judges including photography and art experts. The panel included Mohamed Ismail, award winning photographer, Ehab Adly, reputable Egyptian Art Director and winner of best Art Director Award from the 2015 Arab Song Festival and Yasser Youssef, Photography entrepreneur and Founder of the Shelter Art Gallery . The winners as announced by the judges’ panel were Islam Bakry, Gasser Mohamed and Ahmed Hosny.

George Li, Director of Egypt Office, Huawei Consumer Business Group, expressed his delight with the competition great turnout stating that most of the submissions showed promising talent and also displayed the beauty of Egypt with a lot of passion. He added that the core spirit of Huawei is to always inspire youth to innovate and utilize their talent to make their dreams possible.

‘Huawei Captures Egypt’ competition comes in parallel with the launch of the Huawei P9 in Egypt, which is the first smartphone to be co-engineered with Leica. The Huawei P9 features a dual lens camera that is said to redefine smartphone photography with the full Leica experience. Huawei P9 was launched globally on April 6th and expected to arrive to the Egyptian market very soon.

Now that’s a cool idea! CocaCola Egypt exclusively launches a new “Ice Coca Cola” for this summer!


CocaCola’s “Taste the feeling” will be absolutely real this summer, since the latter” exclusively has unveiled a new product “Ice Coca Cola” to offer its consumers a cure for a summer meltdown. This bottle is entirely made of ice filled with the sorefreshing CocaCola, to make the experiment delight fans. We find it super perfect for the beach, once your ice-cold beverage is consumed, the packaging melts away, leaving nothing to throw away or recycle.

CocaCola Egypt will release this new product by the first day of the feast, Eid Al-Fitr, to be the first country in the EMEA region to exclusively pitch for this product following Columbia.

Beachside servers will be available with the new ice bottle throughout the feast, and then will resume their work over the weekends since they will be working on the weekdays to produce 7k bottles for you to enjoy a “refreshed” weekend. Huawei recently sponsored the premiere of the new movie “30 years ago”, attended by the movie’s full cast including Sherif Mounir, Salah Abdullah and the script writer Ayman Bahgat Qamar. The cast felt very grateful and humbled by the success of the movie, which was attributed with every characteristic to make a film popular and well-enjoyed.

The leading Star, Ahmed El Sakka and the talented director of the film Amr Arafa, took several shots using the Huawei P9 dual lensed camera phone in order to document their happy memories from the premier of their movie. The occasion was held at the Massah hotel and the movie was to be officially launched in Cinemas during Eid Al- Fitr.

The Huawei P9, the official sponsor for the movie, played an important role between a beggar and Sherif Mounir in several scenes of the movie. The film talks about Haunted nightmares in Sherif Mounir’s sleep and every dream finds itself fatal to the character.

When he wakes up, he finds that he has murdered someone. He panics and resorts to his friend (Ahmed El Sakka) to help him with his problem. He then informs the police of the cruel crimes, in order to win the love of their friend (Mona Zaki), who Sherif also happens to love.

The premier show was full of celebrities and media representatives who had taken several selfie shots with the Huawei P9. These celebrities included actor Maged El Masry, Latifa and Akram Hosny a.k.a ‘Sayed Abo Hafezah’.

Som3a Basha hosts a nostalgic Ramadan night to remember!


The Cairo Marriott & Omar El Khayyam Casino held its annual customer sohour at Som3a Basha. Set in the heart of the Patio, at the khedivial gardens of the palace and splendid marble fountains, Som3a Basha enabled the crowd to experience nostalgia with Ayamna El Helwa band sending glorious vibes.

Som3a Basha was set up once again to reflect the Ramadan Flair with the original Street-Chic experience where people enjoyed live cooking stations of the mouthwatering sohour specialties, an erk-sous man, and a shoe-shining station to complete the Ramadan portrait. Ramadan’s popular fool cart with its hot pots and the splashing sound of ta’meya were complemented by the delicious Egyptian sausage and liver sandwiches that had guests asking for seconds. The beautiful display of desserts was far from forgotten, showing off oriental delights that made anyone forget the word diet ever existed.

The Sohour was attended by a selective group of publishers and media personnel representing the top media scene in Egypt in addition to loyal hotel customers. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Egypt Welcomes Its New CEO


In a recent gathering held at “Nineteen Twenty Five” restaurant in Nile Towers, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Egypt Ltd. welcomed Mr. Donald (Don) Smith, the Company’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Smith brings with him more than 20 years of professional experience in the automotive industry within FCA (and the former Chrysler, DaimlerChrysler corporations) holding various roles and responsibilities, more than eight years of which were in different markets across the globe, including Italy, Germany, France, Belgium and Japan. With a strong background in sales, finance and management, Smith is ideally suited to lead Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Egypt at this time.

In his speech during a press gathering that was attended by a large group from the Egyptian automotive media and FCA’s executives, Mr. Smith expressed his enthusiasm for being here in Egypt by saying: “From the first day when I arrived in Egypt in the beginning of April, I felt I was among friends”. He further added, “I feel privileged to join FCA Egypt team to head the business here in Egypt and I am certainly looking forward to continue the positive development in the past and strengthen the foundation of FCA in this dynamic country.”

Mr. Smith replaces Mr. Maciej Ratynski, who is relocating in Poland. These appointments are part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ global strategy for the managerial rotations that take place periodically in the different countries across the world.

It is worth mentioning that Mr. Don Smith has officially resumed his duties as Chief Executive Officer of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Egypt as of April 1st, 2016.
