Hartmut Noack Appointed New General Manager Of The Ritz-Carlton, Sharm el Sheikh
Duchauffour, area vice-president, Europe and Middle East of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C. Mr. Noack brings a wealth of expertise cultivated over more than 20 years in hotel management within Asia, Europe, and Middle East.
A German national, Mr. Noack is responsible for all operations and sales of the 320-room beachfront resort located on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula.
Before joining The Ritz-Carlton,Sharm El Sheikh, Mr. Noack was the general manager for the 288-roomMarriott Hotel, Islamabad – Pakistan. He began his hotel career with Hilton Hotel, Istanbul – Turkey in 1983 as an Executive Sous Chef and working his way to an appointment as The Executive Chef and The Director of Food & Beverage at Hilton hotels in Turkey and Sri Lanka and Shangri La Rasa Sayang Resort, Penang, Malaysia.
His wealth experience in such destinations led him to consecutive leadership role which is Executive Assistant Manager at Crown Plaza and Holiday Inn Hotels, in charge of room division including housekeeping, food & beverage, engineering, and security departments. Mr. Noack was later appointed as General Manager at several international chain hotels as Intercontinental Astana, Kazakhstan, Ramada Hotel Dubai, UAE, Hanoi Horison Hotel, Vietnam, Excelsior-Creek Hotel, Dubai, UAE, and Islamabad Marriott Hotel, Pakistan. Mr. Noack will be managing The Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh luxury resort located on the southern tip of Sinai Peninsula. Set amidst100,000 square meters of beautifully landscaped grounds overlooking Tiran Island and the Red Sea, the resort features 500 meters of unspoiled beach, 320 guest rooms and suites, six restaurants and lounges featuring Italian, Arabian and Japanese cuisines, a fullservice spa and more than 1,000 square meters of elegant indoor and outdoor meeting space.

Mr. Magdy Naguib, the General Manager of JW Marriott Hotel Cairo has recently appointed Nadia El Ansari to Multi-property Director of Sales and Marketing for JW Marriott Cairo and Renaissance Cairo Mirage City which is forecasted to open towards the end of 2012.
Nadia brings in a rich experience garnered from her career in the hospitality industry and her successful leadership experience with Marriott International. Nadia has been a member of the Marriott family for the past 14 years.
Prior to her recent appointment she held several posts like Director of Sales & Marketing at London Marriott Hotel Park Lane and Director of Sales and Marketing at the Cairo Marriott Hotel and Omar Khayyam Casino.
During her time with Marriott she received many awards like Egypt Business Council Leader for Sales & Marketing 2010 & 2011, Marriott Global Sales Award 2008 & 2010 and Manager of the Year 2004 at the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane.

Rotana Signs Hotel Management Agreement for its First Property in Mauritania
Rotana, one of the leading hospitality management companies in the Middle East and Africa, has signed a hotel managementcontract with Al Majmoua Almouritania pour l’Investissement (MMI) to manage a hotel in the capital of Nouakchott. The 5-star hotel will be located within the Ribat Al Bahar project, and will open under Rotana’s “Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts by Rotana” brand.
The signing ceremony for the new hotel took place in Abu Dhabi in the presence of senior management from both parties.
Khaled Al Aboudi, Chairman, MMI, underscored the significance of this partnership between Rotana and Al Majmoua Almouritania pour l’Investissement, saying Rotana was not just chosen as a partner for being a hospitality pioneer in the Middle East and Africa, but also for its deep understanding of Arabic and Islamic culture and values, evident in the development of its “Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts by Rotana” brand – already a proven success in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The hotel is intended to be established on the southern sea-front of the mixed-use Ribat al Bahar project and will include more than 230 rooms, specialized restaurants, meeting rooms, swimming pools, and a gym, in addition to all the services expected of a world-class 5-star hotel.
The hotel is slated to open in late 2014. Rotana and MMI are working rapidly on the design process to ensure the speedy progress of the project.

Islamic Development Bank President Joins World Leaders in Urgent Call for a Polio-Free World At high-level event led by UN Secretary-General, President Ali commits to support polio eradication inIDB member states
Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), joined world leaders today at the United Nations Headquarters in New York as they called for global solidarity to win the fight against polio.
The IDB announced it is developing a US$227 million financing package for the government of Pakistan that will fund Pakistan’s polio eradication activities through 2015.
The IDB is also considering providing a grant to Afghanistan’s polio program.Pakistan and Afghanistan, alongside Nigeria, are the only remaining polio-endemic countries, and all are IDB members.

In December 1972, NASA’s Apollo program came to a successful end as Captain Eugene Cernan,commander of the Apollo XVII, became the last human being to leave footprints on the lunar surface.
