Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Swailem was born in Cairo, on 29th of November, 1970. Swailem studied business administration, then joined a prosperity line of a well-established family business that his father initiated in the fields of marketing, commerce, exportation and merchandising. After many years of a clear vision and hard work, Swailem had proudly managed to expand his business lines and established a multi-services company “Teleserve Group”. Teleserve Group; is a sports development company serving, not only the Egyptian market but extending to the Middle East region, providing diversified sports facilities, and managing a pool of well-known clients and partners, along with owning two prominent Spanish franchised football academies (Atletico Madrid & Real Valladolid).
Mr. Swailem’s enthusiasm towards sports development, and the markets needs was the main drive to set up such a company. The turning point in the company’s lifecycle was the signed contract with “Atletico’s de Madrid” Spanish company for the exclusive rights of launching the Academy’s franchise in Egypt under the brand of “Atletico’s de Madrid Fundación Egypt”. In parallel, the connections and eagerness to expand led to launching several sub-business units including but not limited to; sports marketing, events management, media rights for matches broadcasting, and sports events & recreations.
What are the main goals that Teleserve has already
achieved and the goals to be achieved?
“Actions always speak louder than words”, and we’re glad to have
reached the point and for being ranked as the best sports investment
company in several occasions, hence we are still ambitious to do
more and to reshape the sports facilities and increases awareness to
sports events & recreations in Egypt and the Middle East, along with
expanding the academies concept to cover other types of sports besides
football.
Mr. Swailem is an official FIFA player agent, why haven’t
you considered this business since a long time?
We are into this type of business yet still outside Egypt within the scope
of our company in Athens. Despite that in future, we might, of course,
tackle this edge in the Egyptian market, meanwhile, at the current stage
we prefer focusing on developing young players through international
academies to enhance the players’ quality and abilities within the coming
few years and to be able to offer Egypt with professional international
Egyptian players.
What is your business plan for the upcoming 5 years?
We are passionate towards building a new generation of talented players
all over Egypt, who can be a useful resource for the Egyptian National
Teams in many sports fields.
Is it true that there are always chances for your academy
players to play in Europe with first division clubs? And
how?
Yes, it’s true since we have a set of agreements with several Spanish
clubs, where we are able to send our players for professional playing
there, after a certain scouting process held during our yearly camps,
and actually we do have 7 players who are currently playing in Spanish
clubs and one of them is playing in Atletico Madrid.
From your point of view, what are the problems facing the
football industry in Egypt? And what are the solutions?
The main problem is the miss-management of resources which
negatively affects the football industry in Egypt. We believe that the
international academies concept and the expertise support might help
in achieving better performance levels within the entire field, and will
eventually help in building not only a new generation of professional
players but even professional coaches who are well-developed on both
the academic and the practise levels.
