Katia Kaady, a beautiful Lebanese presenter who has recently
decided to focus on her acting career. She will star in a couple of soap operas;
however one of her dreams is to act in the Egyptian Cinema, since Egypt is the
most important cinema in the Middle East. I have known Katia for quite some time
now, and I find her to be very ambitious, pursuing her career slowly but
surely. She is also light spirited and easy to talk to. We have chatted about
different things; Lebanon, acting , travelling, so read on to know Katia’s
insight about life.
DG:Brief DG readers about your latest
news… Katia: I am still working on the new episodes of
my latest program “Noujoum men gheir hodoum” on Heya TV, after the success of
the previous 30 episodes in which I invited stars from Syria and Lebanon. And
soon in the new episodes we will be inviting stars from
Egypt. DG:Are you going to start off your acting career? Are
you seeking fame in acting? (Do you think acting will give you something
different you did not get as a famous presenter?) Katia:I
have already acted in two Syrian series in 1999, however I stopped because I was
busy pursuing my career as a presenter. Now after my success as a presenter, I
am planning to pursue new steps in acting. Actually I am participating in a TV
series produced by NEW TV called “2emra2a min daya3”. I also accepted another
role in a TV series produced by LBC, written by Choukry Anis Fakhoury and
directed by Philipe Asmar, I am playing one of the main
roles, the role of a model who starts facing many
problems with the one she loves and many accidents happens during this
period of time. DG:What are the qualities of the good
presenter? Katia:A good presenter should be a good listener,
intelligent, responsive, confident and above all should have her own way of
carrying out a good conversation. DG:You have a degree
in international relations, what is your insight about the political turbulence
in Lebanon? Katia:What happened recently in Lebanon of
course has made me very sad. Lebanon and Beirut specifically is the
capital of arts and fashion where we share and tolerate many traditions and
religions, therefore Beirut should be always full of life, love and peace.
Nowadays, differences have been resolved especially by electing a President
which is a great step towards peace and harmony within the different sects. We
as Lebanese learn from our mistakes and that is why I am very optimistic about
the coming period. DG:What do you like most about
Lebanon? Katia: The Lebanese people are full of life
and determination to live their lives to the fullest despite any circumstances
they pass through. DG:What are your rituals before
presenting your program? Katia:First I choose my guest then we fix an
appointment for the shooting, depending on his/her life history I prepare the
questions relating to his/her personality then I prepare my look(hair,
makeup, clothes)I try to present myself in a different look each
time. DG:Do you think changing looks is beneficial for
the presenter or the actor? Katia:Yes I think that any
actor or presenter should be always up to date with the latest Fashion trends in
all aspects (clothes, make hair etc). In my opinion changing looks is very
beneficial because this intrigues the audience’s attention.
DG:I have heard you like using lots of creams….
Tell us how you take care of your skin? Katia:Laughing, I am
laughing because I know who told you this, Inas El Shawaff....Right!!! Yes, it
is very true that I use many creams since I like to take care of my skin to
always look bright and shiny so I use day and night creams for my face and
several other creams also for the body. DG:I also know that
working out is one of your daily rituals… does working out relax you? I like
working out each other day to keep my body full of energy, active, and to be in
a good shape. DG:What is your prefect holiday program and
destination? Katia:Most of my holidays I like to travel to
place such as Egypt and Greece where I can enjoy swimming in their beautiful
beaches.
DG:What is your advice for women concerning
boosting their self esteem, taking care of their bodies and
skin?
Katia:Self esteem doesn’t come from only taking
care of the body and skin, it comes from the personality itself, “You have to
like yourself first so people would like you too”.
DG:What is the one thing that is in your wish
list and you did not pursue until now? Katia:I am very
determined person and I pursue most of my dreams but I still would
like to act in an Egyptian movie. DG:You are going to
present the “First Middle East Music Awards”…. What are you expectations and
fears? Katia:First I would like to thank DG magazine
for choosing me to present the “First Middle East Music Awards. It is such as an
important event where hopefully it will be an amazing experience for me. I had
many experiences in presenting many immense events such as “Jarash Festival” in
Jordan but I feel that during the Middle East Music Awards I will meet different
class of people which will push me to hold a bigger responsibility which I am
ready for it. |
