“Your arms were always open when I needed a hug. Your heart understood when I needed a friend. Your gentle eyes were stern when I needed a lesson. Your strength and love has guided me and gave me wings to fly.” Sarah Malin.
With Mother’s day just around the corner, I could not miss the opportunity to salute all the mothers who have exerted the effort and spent long nights to comfort and take care of their beloved children.
Personally I cannot thank my mother enough - for the love, care, strength and compassion that she has provided me throughout the years. I am certain that my mother has struggled and sacrificed a lot in the course of her life to raise two wonderful children - it certainly has not been easy. She inspired me in so many ways, and made me the woman I am today; a loving mother, a dedicated wife and a successful working member of the society. Being a young mother I can relate to many of the challenges that my mother and most mothers undergo. Putting a smile on your child’s face is something all mothers strive for, even if they are going through difficult times. In spite of all the sacrifices mothers offer yet these sacrifices are insignificant compared to the joy her children bring her.
All mothers nag and keep reminding their children about the same things; eating healthy, studying well and behaving appropriately. But as kids we don’t appreciate these annotations until the moment we become mothers. Mother’s day is an occasion to value our moms a little more, even those who passed away - I believe that a mother’s soul is forever surrounding and protecting her children.
So, seize this opportunity and appreciate your mother in any way that makes her happy, and remember to do this throughout the entire year not just on this special day. Remember that our mothers are " our first teachers; they are our first loves." Says Dr.Maya Angelou.
There might be some people who might not relate to this due to reasons such as not growning up with their mothers, or perhaps for suffering some difficulties in the relationships with their mothers. As stated by Dr. Robin Smith, some individuals consider Mother's Day to be especially difficult. "Beware of all the people who are around you, each of us having a different story - thus a different experience about the meaning of the word "mother" and what mothering means," so recraft this day in a way that suits you - you can appreciate the women who have affected and walked you through your life, whether she is a grand mother, a step mother, an aunt or a friend… Happy mother’s Day …
