She captured our hearts when she was a little girl acting and dancing in commercial ads. And now she is back but as a beautiful and attractive young lady. Her presence in any inventive production adds romance and authenticity to it. This naturally born talent has confirmed her aptitude since her early childhood. But she still has a long path to go headed for stardom. In her own words; Sherry will tell us her story surrounded by the two pyramids  Omar El Sherif and Adel Imam and all about her life and opinions;

Who is Sherry Adel, and where have you been all this time?
My real name is Sherine Adel; I graduated from Le Delivrand French School and am studying at the faculty of commerce, French section. At present I’m in my fourth year hoping to graduate this year. I started my professional career when I was almost two years old after winning Miss Babies beauty contest that was held at Heliopolis Club. I have won twice when I was two and four years old. The legendary Tarek Nour saw me and then I started acting in a lot of advertisements. That was really beneficial for me, as I became familiar with the camera and the entire atmosphere. Since then my true dream was to become an actress. But then I had to stop at a certain age and return later on when I was older and more mature. I concentrated on my studies and personal life until it was the right time for my comeback, which was with the great Dr. Yehia El Fakharany in “ElMarsa Wel Bahar” Ramadan Series. I played the role of his lover and it was a lifetime opportunity for me. People started wondering “who is this little girl” and as time progressed, they recognized that I was the same little one they used to see in TV Commercials. Since then I started my professional career trying to be selective and picky. I truly care about the quality and not the quantity.

Do you have certain restrictions concerning your choices?
I don’t like catchphrases and discussing my principles or the ethics I believe in. But there are certain roles I am not capable of doing due to several reasons; age, my nature and other things. On the other hand, I believe that any actress capable of doing such daring roles is so talented. At the end, these are typical variations from one person to another - and what I can do; others can not, and vice versa.

How do you choose your roles and who assists you?
When I receive any script, I read it carefully with my mother and we decide together.

After playing the female lead role with Mohamed Heneidi, are you planning to act only as the leading actress or all types of roles?
No, of course not… I am only going to perform the good roles, whether it is the leading role or a secondary role. As I said - I think about the quality not the quantity.

We regularly hear about the artistic field and its surrounding atmosphere, to be extremely harsh, how do you endure  especially that Sherry Adel is so sweet and gentle?
Well, this is not true; our field is just like any other working field full of good people as well as bad. As for me, every single person I’ve met and worked with has been so kind, and has helped me agreat deal. As for what you heard about snatching roles from each other, perhaps that happens, but on a very small scale and
not the majority at all. I believe we are like one family.

What do festivals, awards and admiration represent to Sherry Adel?And do you think that Egypt can organize something similar to the Oscars? I think that awards and appreciation is so important to any actor or actress, it is like a thermometer for their success. When I receive an award, I feel I have done something valuable and that I have worked hard and that is why people and critics are thanking me. And yes, Egypt is capable of organizing something similar to the Oscars. We have great and talented actors, directors and script writers. We just need financial support, nothing more. Who is your idol, favorite actor and actress? I want to be Sherry Adel and no one else, but of course I have favorite actors and actresses. I love Mona Zaki, Ghada Adel, and Yasmine Abdel Aziz. I adore Faten Hammama, Soad Hosny, Ahmed Ramzy, Omar El Sherief and Abdel Halim Hafez. I would like to work with Ahmed Helmy, El Sakka, Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdel Aziz. Omar El Sherief and Adel Imam, tell us about your experience with these two pyramids? It was WOW - the best thing that ever happened to me. Those were truly pleasant days, full of laughter and good spirit. Omar El Sherief is very humble; I never felt that I am with the great Omar El Sherief. He was continually teaching me, narrating stories about old days and universal cinema. I gained a lifetime of experience from him.

Adel Imam taught me how to love what I am doing, to love the people I am working with, and to be natural and spontaneous. His presence gives you self confidence and assurance. I was so lucky to work with these two pyramids.

What about your personal life, any love stories or marriage
plans?
I would like to get married to someone I love, and be a mother. Nothing serious is going on now, hopefully soon Inshallah.

What’s next for Sherry Adel?
I will start shooting the new Ramadan Series with Dr. Yehia El Fakharany (Sheikh El Arab Hamam), directed by Hosny Saleh. It is areally good role.
