In an enchanting ceremony of the MENA Awards 2014 Renaissance Cairo Mirage City Hotel wins the silver award for best rising hotel in the Middle East and Africa for the year 2013. The MENA Award is an annual ceremony that recognizes real talent through outstanding services in the field of tourism and hospitality industry. Ramses Hilton was chosen to hold a business lunch and a meeting organized by Education Malaysia Egypt EME, the Malaysian student Association in Egypt attended by His Excellency Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari Ambassador of Malaysia and diplomatic staff in the Embassy, the purpose of the event was to emphasize on the importance of the Egyptian Malaysian relations and the ongoing cooperation between the two countries. Meinrad moved on to Bindella Gastronomie in Zürich holding the position of the Regional Director for 10 restaurants spread over Switzerland, and General Manager at Grand Hotel for Meriton Hotels AS, moving to the Westin Leipzig in Germany as an Operation Manager. Prior to this appointment, Meinrad was the General Manager at the Park Inn Sharm-El-Sheikh , and the Radisson Blu Resort, a position he held since 2010 till embarked another journey by joining Le Meridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa. Meinrad Schibler is a Swiss citizen, graduated from Swiss Hotel School in Lucerne and obtained a BBA from Graduate School of Business Administration in Zürich. Cairo Marriott Hotel launched the first phase of the Ebtessama Foundation program
As part of Marriott International values in the ìSpirit to Serveî the community and believing in its role to support the Egyptian community, the Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino launched the first phase for the Ebtessama Foundation training program. Ebtessama is a foundation that aims to train and develop people with intellectual disabilities to qualify them for work opportunities and place them in the right environment where they can be productive in the field of tourism and hotels. The Cairo Marriott hotel is supporting Ebtessama Foundation through providing professional training that will allow persons with intellectual disabilities to get a permanent job and eventually to be able to depend on themselves financially. The kick off for the first phase was attended by Mrs. Magda Samy Head of Ebtessama Association, the parents of the selected trainees to introduce them to the work environment where their children will work in, and members of the executive committee of the Cairo Marriott Hotel. It started with a video presented by Mrs. Magda Samy showing real life stories of some trainees and how their lives were affected and changed by this program then was followed by a tour of the hotel where the candidates were surprised when they met a member of the association who is hired and currently working at the hotel.

Hilton Pyramids Golf Resort hosted the Egyptian world Olympic champion Seif Eissa. Eissa won the bronze medal in the 2014 Youth Olympic Games which was held in Nanjing, China.
